Harry E. Elton Sr.

Age 74, of East Rochester, died Sat. April 5, 2014 in the Great Trail Care Center.  He was born April 23, 1939 in East Rochester to Robert and Margaret (Weaver) Elton. He was the owner and operator of Harry's Body Shop in East Rochester and had worked for TRW in Minerva.  He was a member of the US Army Reserves and had been very active as an area youth coach having coached YMCA high school basketball and youth wrestling, baseball and football.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Joy (Monk) Elton who died in 2006, son-in-law, Lee Bettis and a brother, Robert "Bobby" Elton.  He is survived by 6 children; Jeff (Terri) Elton of Minerva, Patricia (Jared) First of Minerva, Sherri Elton and (Lane Yeagley) of Alliance, Harry Elton Jr. and fiancé, Shannon Liebi of East Rochester, Laura Bettis of San Antonio, TX and Stacey Jenkins of Kensington, sister, Carol Ray of Minerva, brother, John Billiter of Alliance, step mother, Martha Jane Steinmetz of Minerva, 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 7:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva.  Calling hours will be Tuesday 4-7 pm prior to services.  Following cremation, burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Minerva YMCA or the Minerva VFW Post #4120.
