Harry R. Coleman, age 85, of Minerva and formerly of Robertsville, died Sunday, January 3, 2016 at his home with his wife by his side. He was born June 5, 1930 in Paris, OH to the late Floyd and Mildred (Ecrement) Coleman. He retired from Crescent Brick in East Canton with 40 years of service as a fire kiln man, served in the US Navy in the South Pacific during the Korean Conflict and is a former member of the Minerva Eagles Aerie #2199. He was also a member of the New Franklin United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by a son, Douglas H. Coleman who passed in 1998; 5 sisters, Eva Polen, Noni Schreckengast, Mary Alcala, Pat Sturms, Shirley Palmer; and a brother, Merle G. Coleman.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Charlotte (Neville) Coleman whom he married Aug. 5, 1950; a daughter, Deborah (Frank) Soltesz of Canton; daughter-in-law, Wanda Bryan of Robertsville; 2 sisters, Carol (Dean) Moore of Minerva, Linda VanMeter of Minerva; 4 grandchildren, Aaron (Shauna), Brooke (Andrew), Justin, Alex; 5 great grandchildren, Cayden, Maddox, Harper, Amelia, Everett; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Molly who was his pride and joy.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Elaine Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
