Harold Eugene "Woody" Woods, age 72, of Minerva, died Wednesday, July 6, 2016 in Alliance Community Hospital. He was born November 29, 1943 in Carrollton, OH to John and Leila (Gotshall) Woods. He is a graduate of Carrollton High School, a proud US Army veteran, retired as a machine repairman for PCC Airfoils where he worked for over 40 years, was a wrestling coach for many years, and was deemed Minerva's Greatest Wrestling Fan! He was also a member of the Minerva First Christian Church, the NRA, the American Legion, founding member of Minerva Car Club Stockers and Streeters, and the Stark County Wrestling Assoc. He is survived by his wife, Corinne (Bobey) Woods, whom he married Dec. 1, 1984; 3 daughters, Stephanie Woods of Columbus, Kim Woods of Columbus, Tiffany (Mike) Walenchok of Pittsburgh; a son, Brian Woods of Columbus; 2 sisters, Barbara (Joe) McElroy of Selinsgrove, PA, Bev (Dennis) Marsh of Canton; a brother, Raymond (Nan) of Cartersville, GA; 6 grandchildren, Taylor Murray, Christian Woods, Rylan and Gavin Gubesch, Michael and Brady Walenchok. He is preceded in death by a brother, John Woods, Jr.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday in the Minerva First Christian Church with Pastor Kevin Crater officiating. Burial will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery with full military honors. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva.
