Harold D. Newcomer

Age 93, of Minerva, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2020. He was born Sept. 22, 1927 in Malvern to John and Mary (Lewis) Newcomer. He was a furnace operator at Republic Steel for 30 years. He attended the East Rochester United Methodist Church and is a WWII US Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan (McDaniel) Newcomer whom he married May 23, 1959, daughter, Julie Bertram of Minerva, a sister, Betty (Virgil) Taylor of Berlin Center and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a son, Danny Newcomer, 3 sisters, Katherine Barringer, Lela Dray, Jean Vandegrift, 2 brothers, Bud and Paul Newcomer and a granddaughter, Machaela Newcomer.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 1:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home with Rev. David Naus officiating. Burial will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens.  Calling hours will be a half hour prior to services.
