Harold Lee Kump

Harold Lee Kump, age 85, of Minerva, died Wed., March 23, 2011 in the Sterling House of Alliance. He was born April 27, 1925 in Atwater to Harold and Helen (Stewart) Kump. He retired in 1981 from Babcock and Wilcox in Alliance. After retirement, he worked for Great Trail and Edgewater Golf Courses in Minerva. He is a 1942 graduate of Atwater High School, a US Navy Veteran of WWII, past Commander of VFW Post #4120 in Minerva, member of Malvern American Legion Post #375, member Augusta Lodge #504 F&AM, and the Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton.

He is preceded in death by his wife Frances (Gotschall) Kump who died in 2003; two sisters, Emma Evans and Ruth Gamoran and three brothers, Wilfred, Frank and Albert Kump.

He is survived by a daughter Kim (Rex) Minneman of Cary, NC; two grandsons Sheldon (Dawn) Whitcher of Minot, ND and Ross Whitcher of Raleigh, NC and a great grandson Cole Whitcher.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Barbara Bartholomew officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday 6-8 pm at the funeral home where Masonic services will be held at 8 pm.
