Grant Lee Hale

age 17, of Minerva passed away on Thursday afternoon, September 10, 2026, from injuries sustained from an automobile accident. He was born on November 24, 2008, in Canton, the son of Roger Lee and Lindsay (nee Peddicord) Hale. Grant was a senior at Minerva High School and attended R.G. Drage, receiving advanced training as a machinist. Since the 4th grade, Grant loved playing the trumpet and was in the Minerva Marching Band and Concert Band. He was smart, very hardworking, funny, super stubborn, loving, and so incredibly special to his family. Grant was a student who was passionate about precision machining and was excited to continue working as an apprentice machinist after graduation. He had already accepted a job through Stolle Machinery full time over the summer. Throughout his life, Grant loved to go fishing, play Pokemon Go, and was an avid gamer with his friends. 

He is survived by his loving parents, Roger Lee and Lindsay Hale of Minerva; his little sister, Ilah Hale of Minerva; his maternal grandparents, Alan and Debra Peddicord of Minerva; his great grandmother, Barbara Ann Cooper of New Philadelphia his uncles, David Hale, Jesse (Carrie Collins) Peddicord; cousins, Gavin and Lilli Peddicord; numerous additional cousins; and many extended family. Grant is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roger "Mo" Hale and Deborah Rhodes Brown; and his great grandfather, William Cooper. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home, 206 East Lincoln Way, Minerva, Ohio 44657. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
