Gordon "Gordy" Gillard, Age 67, of Minerva, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, July 13, 2015 unexpectedly following an accident at home. He was born Dec. 12, 1947 in Olney, IL to Wilma (Hedrick) Gillard of Canton and the late Grant Gillard. He retired from the East Ohio Gas Co. in 2002 and had worked for the M. Conley Co. in Canton. He is a member of the Malvern First Christian Church and was a 1966 graduate of Lincoln High School.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Estelita (Armstrong) Gillard whom he married July 31, 1982, 2 sons, Eddie (Stephanie) Gillard of Akron, Bryan Allen Gillard of Minerva, sister, Janice (Pete) Ballos of Canton, brother, Ron (Penny) Gillard of Canton, sister and brother-in-law, Ginger and Richard Boyd of Canton, 2 grandchildren, Jessica and Olivia, 6 nieces and nephews, Heath and Amber Boyd, Brandon (Jeneanne) and Michael Ballos, Shane and Summer Gillard, and a great nephew, Grant Ballos.

Calling hours will be held Thursday 5-7 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva. A private family service will be held on Friday with Mr. Larry Karlen officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Voice of the Martyrs or Samaritans Purse.
