Glenda R. Rummell, age 78, of Paris, died Thursday, March 12, 2015 in her home surrounded by her loving husband and family. She was born Jan. 8, 1937 in Salem, OH to the late Raymond and Hazel (Barnes) Grimes. She was a school bus driver for Marlington Schools where she worked for 24 years, a member of the Stark County Farm Bureau, member of the Minerva Mother of Twins Club, where she was "Mother of the Year" twice, was a Lisbon 4-H Queen, and an avid Marty Stuart fan having attended over 500 shows. She also loved cooking, crocheting, dancing, was a game show enthusiast and loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Clarence, whom she married Aug. 20, 1955; 5 daughters, Diana (Larry) Palmer of Minerva, Lesa (Wade) LaForce of Vermilion, Connie Rummell of Paris, Tracy (Delmar) Smith of Beloit and Trudy (Jim) Mehl of Alliance; a son, Edward (Paula) Rummell of Paris; 13 grandchildren, Chris (Kim) Rummell, Chad (Gina) Rummell, Daniel (Tiffany) Palmer (Pallbearer) , Kyle Palmer (pallbearer) , Ryan (Courtney) Mathes (pallbearer) , Austin (Jill) Mehl (pallbearer) , Allie (Joe) LaForce-Smith (pallbearer) , Jack LaForce (pallbearer), Casey (Derek) Smith, Emily (Ross) Greiner, AuBree LaForce (pallbearer) , Dean Rummell (pallbearer) , Sheridan Rummell; and 10 great grandchildren, Lucas, Laila, Kaylee, Lily, Addison, Violet, Oriana, Owen, Mehlody, Corin and one on the way, and lifelong best friend, Hazel Walker. She is preceded in death by her parents and a great granddaughter, Calliope Mathes.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Sue DeHoff officiating. Burial will be in Freeburg Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday 6-8 pm and one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alliance Visiting Nurse and Hospice Assoc. and the American Stroke Association.
