Glen F. Bates

Age 89, of East Canton, passed peacefully to his heavenly home, to join his wife, on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 24, 1932, in Canton, to Russell and Laura (Archer) Bates. He retired from PCC Airfoils in Minerva where he had worked for 30 years. He is a member of the Little Country Church in Waynesburg and graduated from East Canton High School in 1951. Glen built and remodeled many homes for his friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorthy (Weddell) Bates who died in 2012 and 3 brothers, Robert, William, and Earl Bates. He is survived by 2 daughters, Eileen Corbett, Cheryl (Robert) Locke; son, Chris Bates; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, January 31st, at 11:00 am in The Little Country Church, in Waynesburg with Pastor Ted Knapp officiating.  Burial will be in Robertsville Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Sunday 4-6 p.m. January 30 ^th at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home and one hour prior to services from 10-11 am Monday at the Little Country Church.
