Gertrude M. Williamson

age 98, of Minerva, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2021 in the Minerva Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born Nov. 2, 1922 in Wayne County, IL to Ross and Elma (Shell) Mayo.  She was a housewife and had formerly worked for Thomason's Dept. Store in Wayne City, IL.  She is a member of the Minerva First Christian Church and the Alpha Rho Sunday School Class.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Bill" Williamson, daughter, Peggy Gross, 2 brothers, Andrew and Roy Mayo and 3 sisters, Dorothy Roy, Ethel Hilliard and Irene Hilliard.  She is survived by a daughter, Debra Gascon of Minerva, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 7:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Pastor Michael Gross officiating.  Calling hours will be 2 hours prior to services from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City, IL on Monday, Oct. 25.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alpha Rho Sunday School Class Fund.
