Jerry L. Vandegrift, age 61, of Malvern, died Sat., Oct. 5, 2013. He was born Jan. 28, 1952 in Canton to the late Melvin and Norma (Doak) Vandegrift. He worked maintenance for the Carroll County District Library for the last 10 years and had worked at Vandegrift Excavating for 34 years. He is a member of the Minerva Church of Christ and loved "tinkering" and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Marcia (Dixon) Vandegrift whom he married in 1981; 2 sisters, Janice (Don) Oneacre of Minerva, Judy Withrow of Minerva; and a brother, James (Sheryl) Vandegrift of Minerva; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Mr. Marty Martin officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.
