George C. Shaw

Age 89, of East Rochester, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019. He was born April 28, 1929 in East Rochester to Arther and Mildred (Kline) Shaw. He retired from the Railroad having worked for Penn Central and ConRail. He is a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and is a member of the Minerva VFW Post #4120, Malvern American Legion Post #375, and a former member of the Tri-County Antique Car Club and the Minerva Eagles.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Esther (Kirsch) Shaw who died in 2001, a daughter, Mildred, 2 sons, James and Gary, 2 sisters, Martha Kireta and Jessie Granger, 3 brothers, R. Wayne, Donald and William Shaw, and a grandson, Jordan Filisky. He is survived by a daughter, Jerri (Daniel) Felisky of Minerva, brother, Arthur "Goot" Shaw of Sebring, 2 grandchildren, Jacob Filisky of CO and Erin Felisky of Minerva.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Terry Kirsch officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday 5-7 pm in the funeral home.
