George E. Collins
Age 86 of Robertsville and then East Rochester in his later years where he lived with his daughter until moving to Minerva Eldercare in 2009, went to be with the Lord on Sunday March 6, 2011. He was born May 25, 1924 in Litwar, WV to Arthur and May (Patrick) Collins. He is a Welder-fitter having retired from Babcock and Wilcox in Canton and had worked for Macomber in Louisville. He is a US Veteran of the Merchand Marines having served in WWII.
He is preceded in death by his wife Hazel (Muncye) Collins, infant son George Collins Jr., son, Ronald Lee Collins Sr., a sister Ruby Herold and a brother Roy Collins. He is survived by a daughter Linda (Larry) Hodge of East Rochester, three sons; Larry (Alice) Collins of Carrollton, Gary Collins of Dellroy and Kenneth (Sandy) Collins of Augusta, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Gordon Warner officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours will be Wed. from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
