Gary Schotts

Gary Martin Schotts, aged 84, passed away peacefully in the Inn at Belden on July 12, 2026. Born on December 28, 1941, in Canton, Ohio, Gary dedicated his life to both his family and his career in the marine industry as a salesman and marketing manager. He is a member of the Minerva First Christian Church, where he was a member of the 4-Square Sunday School class and served as a former deacon. His devotion to the church and its activities reflected his compassionate spirit and dedication to helping others.

Gary is preceded in death by his wife, Carol (Lambert) Schotts who died in 2024, parent’s Jack and Evelyn (Fiscus) Meister, son-in-law Greg Ruff and a brother, Jackie Schotts. He is survived by his children: daughter Diane Ruff of Minerva; sons Tom (Constance) Schotts of Minerva, Jim (Sherry) Schotts of Canton, and John (Tammy) Schotts of AZ, and 11 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

After cremation a memorial service will be held in Gary's honor at the Minerva First Christian Church on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 11:00 am with Zack Long officiating. Those wishing to send condolences can do so at www.gotschallfunalhome.com
