Gary J. Phillips, age 70, of Malvern, died Friday, March 18, 2016. He was born Nov. 8, 1945 in Canton to Troy and Valery (Klucnik) Phillips. He had been a car salesman at several area dealerships including Guess Motors and Hubner's in Carrollton and had worked for over 20 years at Jackson-Hewitt Tax Service in Canton. He graduated from Malvern High School in 1964 and is a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Malvern.
He is survived by his wife, Jane (Staley) Phillips whom he married Jan. 14, 1967, daughter, Jennifer (A.J.) Fichter of Canton, son, Shane Phillips of Malvern, 3 brothers, Rick Phillips of Pinehurst, NC, Bryon "Smokey" (Elaine) Phillips of Atlanta, GA, Randy (Sheila) Phillips of Minerva, and 3 grandchildren, Brock, Blaze and Autum Fichter.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 11:00 am in St. Francis Catholic Church in Malvern with Fr. Victor Cinson as celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday 6-8 pm at St. Francis Catholic Church in Malvern. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church Building fund for the new social hall.
