Gary Z. Cooper
Age 78, of Minerva, died Wed., March 8, 2017 in Green Meadows Care Center in Louisville. He was born May 11, 1938 in Shady Springs, WV to the late Joseph and Lola (Farley) Cooper. He graduated from Canton South High School in 1956 and is a member of the Malvern First Christian Church. He is a member of Edgewater Golf Club where he loved to golf and golfed for years in the 1pm golf league and the Monday golf league. He was an avid sports fan, loving basketball and playing Gin and Euchre and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Janet (Copland) Cooper whom he married March 9, 1974, daughter, Annette (Donzil) Tanner of Massillon, 4 sons, Gary (Tammy) Cooper Jr. of Massillon, Greg (Rhonda) Cooper of Alto, MI, Mark (Heather) Cooper of Louisville, Kevin (Heather) Cooper of Lexington, KY, sister, Janey (Ty) Thomas of Massillon, brother, James Cooper of Ada, OK, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 12 noon in the Malvern First Christian Church with Pastor Greg Cooper and Mr. Kenny Thomas officiating. Calling hours will be two hours prior to services from 10 am to 12 noon at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Malvern First Christian Church.
