Gary L. Bennett, age 81, of Loudonville, died Sat., June 28, 2014 in the Hospice House of Ashland. He was born Aug. 31, 1932 in Huntingdon, PA to Harry and Julialee (Waltz) Bennett. He was a millwright for General Motors of Mansfield for 30 years and a member of the UAW. He graduated from Augusta High School in 1951 and served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He is a lifetime member of the Amvets Post #1969, member of the Loudonville American Legion Post #257, the Minerva VFW Post #4120, the Minerva Eagles Aerie #2199 and the Loudonville Eagles Aerie #2275.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Cheryl breault of SC, Pamela Berg of Salem, Karen White of Loudonville; son, Gary Bruce Bennett of Mansfield; sister, Caroline Bennett of Sidney, Montana; 4 brothers, Allen (Junette) Bennett of Canfield, Bruce (JoAnn) Bennett of East Rochester, Gilmore (Evelyn "Susie") Bennett of Mineral City, Kenneth (Lynda) Bennett of Kensington; 9 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by 3 sisters, Joyce Straino, Winnifred Guthrie and Larue Amelung.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 12 noon in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva. Burial with full military honors will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Calling hours will be one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
