Garrison J. Markins
Age 20, of Minerva, passed away peacefully with his mom and dad by his side, Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in Aultman Hospital following a life long battle with Cardiomyopathy. He was born June 10, 2002 in Huron. He graduated from Minerva High School in 2021 and is currently a student at Kent State University. Garrison was an accomplished athlete at Minerva High School and was planning on playing football at Kent State this fall. He was known in all of his endeavors for his sportsmanship and always thinking of others. And this extends beyond this life as he gave the gift of life to others as an organ donor.
He is survived by his parents, Curtis and Mollee (Cyders) Markins of Minerva, maternal grandparents, Rod and Jean Stickler, paternal grandparent, Sheila Markins, 6 sisters, Andria, Jesseca, Emmalee, Alyssa, Jorgan, Heaven, 5 brothers, Quin, Igor, Demetrius, Deandre, Thaddeus, 5 nieces, 4 nephews and special nephew, Dominik and many aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Rick Cyders, paternal grandfather, Danny Markins, maternal great grandmother, Betty White, his best friend Alex Miller and Emmanuel Pendleton.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:00 pm in the Malvern First Christian Church with Mr. Kenny Thomas officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday 6-9 pm at the Malvern First Christian Church and one hour prior to services on Saturday. The family would like to thank the staff of Aultman Hospital's Emergency Room and MICU and especially his nurse Amanda for all of their wonderful care during this difficult time. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses.
