Frederic Edwin Wisler, age 72, of Minerva, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was reunited with the love of his life, Karen Ann, on February. 4, 2012.
Fred was born May 17, 1939, in Salem, Ohio, to Luelsa (Neville) McCartney and Lester Edwin Wisler. He was a 1957 graduate of Salem High School. He worked for the Alliance Publishing Company for 33 years.
He formerly attended Little Country Church and was more recently a member of the Minerva Church of the Nazarene. He regularly attended Hollow Rock Camp Meeting each year and participated in Men With Vision, a missions support group with World Gospel Mission.
Fred and the former Karen Ann Wagner were married in the Salem United Methodist Church on April 25, 1969. Karen, as well as Fred's parents, preceded him in death.
Fred and Karen were the parents of three children: Jeffery Allen Wisler of Fresno, California, Jay Douglass (Amber) Wisler of Vancleve, Kentucky and Lynn Ann (Phillip) Walter of Kensington, Ohio. Grandchildren are Michael Baldwin, Samantha (Walter) Bernal, Pace Walter, Caleb Wisler, Emily Wisler, Tyler Wisler and Lanae Walter.
In addition to his children and grandchildren, Fred is survived by his brothers, Lee (Janet) Wisler of Beloit, Ohio and Larry Wisler of Burton, Michigan.
Fred will be remembered by his family and friends as someone who loved the Lord and lived his faith with the singing of hymns, reading of God's word and in prayer. He also loved his family and brought joy to others in all that he did at work, at church and at home.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Little Country Church in Waynesburg with Rev. Melvin Truex and Rev. Tim Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Gotschall-Hutchison funeral home in Minerva. Memorial donations may be made to the Minerva Church of the Nazarene.
