IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Franklin "Frank"
Hein
October 20, 1939 – December 17, 2022
Franklin James "Frank" Hein
age 83, of Minerva, passed away Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022 in Aultman Hospital surrounded by his family following a 3 year long struggle with heart and pulmonary fibrosis. He fought a hard battle, never wanting to give up. He was born Oct, 20, 1939 to Glen and Thelma (Walker) Hein at the home place in East Rochester. He graduated from Minerva High School in 1957. Following graduation, he entered the US Army where he served active duty and reserves during the Berlin Crisis. He began working at Kol-Cast in Minerva and continued through the TRW years and retired from PCC where he was an engineer in the prototype foundry.
Frank loved deer hunting and fishing at Berlin Lake on his boat with his sons and grandsons. He also loved finding treasures at auctions. He loved having his gardens. Sometimes planting 3 gardens at a time and then canning and freezing his produce and giving to friends and neighbors. He was always at his grandkids sporting events and encouraged them. He coached pony league and little league baseball at East Rochester for many years. He also loved college football, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was very happy when he received an autographed shirt from the Ohio State 2002 National Championship Football Team. Our beloved Frank was so loved by all his family. Grandpa was the Go-To guy by everyone. He will be sadly missed forever.
