Frank A Lutes

Age 95, of East Rochester, died Thursday, July 21, 2022 in the Carroll Golden Age Retreat. He was born Jan. 27, 1927 at the family farm in Augusta Township, Carroll County to Frank and Mary (Morrison) Lutes. He attended school in Minerva until he joined the service US Army during WWII. He retired from Babcox & Wilcox in Canton where he worked for many years. He is a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Augusta Lodge #504 F&AM.

He is survived by five children, Sharon Longfellow of Canton, Thomas (Fe) Lutes of the Philippines, Frank (Jolaine) Lutes of Minerva, Debby (Orin) Slack of Minerva, Gerald (Lisa) Lutes of Minerva, 14 grandchildren, Jarrod, Kenny, Kylie, Rose, Sarah, Frank (Patty), Zachary, James, Johnathan, Buchanan, Kaitlyn, and Benjamin (Madison) Lutes, Jessica (Jeff) Yost and Kathy (Aaron) Warrick and 17 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by five sisters, Lois Kimbel, Gladys Mead, Doris Dennis, Lela Madison, Edith Lutes and a brother, Howard Lutes, granddaughter, Deborah Strange and a grandson, Christopher Lutes.

Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Linda Bradley officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Quaker Ridge Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Sunday 5-7 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
