Frank "Bud" Long
Age 66, of Minerva, passed away December 17, 2016 in the Cleveland Clinic following a short illness. He was born August 30, 1950 in Malvern to Hugh and Opal (Buck) Long. Bud was a 1969 graduate of Minerva High School. He worked for 44 years for Burn's Cold Forge, Mascotech, Metaldyne and Formtech where he held many positions. After retiring, Bud drove for Furey's in Malvern.

Bud had a great love for country music especially Johnny Cash, which will forever be his hero. He also had a love for horses and part time farming. Bud was a dedicated blood donor and had donated 22 gallons throughout his life. He was a member of the Malvern First Christian Church and was loved and known by many and will be greatly missed by all those who came in contact with him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Vicki (Zorger) Long who died in 2002, stepsisters, Eileen Buck, Virginia Long, Pearl Rogers, several aunts and uncles and a niece, Carey Long, nephew, Bob Manning and cousin, Ron Buck. He is survived by 3 sisters, and 2 brothers, Lurena (Melvin) Kimble of East Rochester, Mary (Bob) Ford of Kensington, Nancy (Bill) Mitchell of Beach City, Homer (Shirley) Long of Kensington, Hugh (Martha) Long of New Garden, nephews and nieces; Larry Buck, Betty Buck, Jamie Kimble, Melvin Kimble Jr., John Long, Bryan Mitchell, Rebecca Schott, Bressa Long, Amanda Long, Christy Long, Lisa Manning, Tim Manning and Ricky Horton, 18 great nieces and nephews and several cousins, and his beloved dog, "Boots" as they went everywhere together.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Mr. Kenny Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday 5-7 pm and one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or donate a pint of blood in Bud's name.
