Frances H. Marteney
Age 80, of Minerva, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in the Great Trail Care Center in Minerva. She was born Feb. 8, 1933 in Oneida to French and Leona (LeBeau) Marteney. She is a 1951 graduate of Augusta High School and graduated from Malone with a BA in Education. She taught kindergarten in Malvern for 19 years having retired in 1985 and was the secretary for Augusta school for 13 years. She was also a member of the True North Church and former member of OEA & National Education Assoc. She was the director of the Senior Center for 10 years, a Sunday School Teacher for Mount Zion Methodist Church and hosted a weekly Bible study.

She is survived by 8 brothers and sisters, Eva Wolf of Minerva, Mary (Jaye) Runes of Centennial, CO, Evelyn Hopkins of Minerva, Oscar (Carol) Marteney of Minerva, June Bettis of Minerva, Elmer "Jack" Marteney of Minerva, Darlene Billiter of Minerva, and Pamela Marteney of Minerva; 17 nieces and nephews and 34 great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by a sister, Donna Clark.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Bradley Clark officiating. Calling hours will be Friday, 6-9 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service. Following cremation burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
