Floyd S. Haynam, age 94, of Minerva, died Wed., December 16, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born Jan. 31, 1921 in Robertsville to Earl and Mabel (Stonehill) Haynam. He was a longtime dairy farmer and member of the Bayard Grange #1878. His passion was his Draft horses. He enjoyed taking them to parades, participating in draft horse pulls and giving children rides, as well as, logging timber with his team.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Irene (Beckley) Haynam whom he married Sept. 11, 1948, 4 daughters, Lucinda Bos of North Canton, Lucille (Mark) Vaughn of Canton, Roxanne Cope (Robert) Sterling of Leetonia and Roxie Haynam(Mike Schmuck) of Minerva, son, Harry (Connie) Haynam of Minerva, sister, May Ella (Frank) Boyd of East Rochester, 7 grandchildren, Brad, Amy, Emily, Lisa, April, Taylor and Preston and 7 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by 4 brothers, Edgar "Dutch", Ellwood "Nubby", Lester and Lee Haynam. A special "Thank You" to Sharon Leigh, from the family, for all her wonderful care.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m at the Gotschall –Hutchison Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Williams officiating. Burial (with horse drawn hearse) will be in Liberty Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday 1-3 and 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made the Hospice of Alliance.
