Florence "Flossie" Rue
Age 87, of Minerva, died Monday, June 5, 2017 at St. Luke's Lutheran Community in Minerva. She was born July 8, 1929 in Cleveland to Arthur and Florence Emily (Polen) Nagey. She retired as an assembler/finisher from TRW Metals in 1986 after 21 years. She was a past member of the Minerva First Christian Church where she had been a member of the Minister's Class, the U&I Sunday School Class, the Home Department, Deaconess and supported the children groups with cookies. She volunteered with the Red Cross, cooked for the Minerva Community Meals, rang the bell for the Minerva Salvation Army and sold Avon. She graduated from Minerva High School in 1948 and was a member of O.E.S. Esther Chapter #120 and a life member of the Minerva VFW Aux. #4120. She loved quilting, crocheting, sewing and going to Minerva High School golf and football games and going on great vacations.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald "Jerry' Rue, who died in 2011. She is survived by 2 daughters, Sally (Tom) Davies of Minerva, Karla (Rue) Truxall of Columbus; a son, Jim (Scarlet) Rue of North Canton; a sister, Connie (Earl) Moses of Massillon; a brother, Ray Nagey of Alliance; 7 grandchidren, Derek and Jason Davies, Travis, Tyler, Tara, Taylor, Tessa Rue; 6 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Nathan, and Dylan Davies, Harrison and Isla Rue and Addison Regimbal.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating. Callings hours will be held Thursday one hour prior to services from 10-11 am. Burial will be held in the East Lawn Cemetery.
