Ernest A. Cole

Age 95 of Kensington died Fri. June 1, 2012 in his home. He was born Nov. 4, 1916 in Newland, NC to Ira and Magnolia (Pritchard) Cole. He was a crane operator for United Engineering in Canton for 30 years and is a member of the Carrollton Baptist Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Hawkins) (Stoffer) Cole whom he married Jan. 4, 1977, 2 daughters; Alverta Roach of N. Fort Myers, FL, Athnee (Merle) Pearson of Waynesburg, son, Melvin (Lila) Cole of Cape Coral, FL, 2 stepdaughters; Donna (Paul) Kail of Minerva and Marcia (Don) McLaughlin of Conyers, GA, stepson, Larry (Diana) (Cole) Stoffer of Kensington, daughter-in-law, Darlene Cole of Carrollton, sister, Mildred Lane of Newland, NC, 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth (Grindstaff) Cole, daughter, Lovonia Cole, son, Marlin Cole, 2 sisters; Bonnie Calhoun and Hester Wise and 6 brothers; Frank, Claude, Lovie, Clyde, Hoover and Charles Cole.
Funeral services will be Friday June 8th at 11:00 in the Carrollton Baptist Temple with Rev. David Powell officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday 6-8 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the Carrollton Baptist Church.
