Emma Lou Richardson
Age 90, of Minerva, died Tues., September 11, 2012 in her home. She was born Aug. 26, 1922 in New Bethlehem, PA to Arthur and Gertrude (Grinder) Spillane. She retired from the Minerva School District where she taught first grade at West Elementary for 30 years, received her Bachelor's in Education from Clarion State University, and was a member of the Ohio and National Education Associations. She was also a member of the Bayard United Methodist Church and the Louisville YMCA.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Richardson who passed in 2008; and a sister, Mary Shankel.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen (Paul) Guest of Minerva; a son, John (Pat) Richardson of Minerva; a sister, Joan Spillane of Minerva; 5 grandchildren; 14 great Grandchildren and 2 great great grandsons.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 am in the Bayard United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Williams officiating. Burial will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours will be one hour prior to services on Friday from 10-11 am. Memorial donations may be made to the church or the Louisville YMCA.
