Elwood "Duff" Unkefer

Age 79, of Minerva, gained his heavenly wings on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Sept. 8, 1940 to Atlee and Jeanette (Betz) Unkefer.

Duff retired in 1998 from his job at Ashland Oil as a truck driver. He resided in Minerva nearly all of his life. Duff took pride in maintaining his landscaping at his home, keeping his vehicles spotless, doing home projects and spending time with his family. He was an avid Minerva Lions football and wrestling fan. He is a member of the New Franklin United Methodist Church.

Duff is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jean (Beach) Unkefer whom he married Oct. 23, 1959, daughter, Lori (Tom) Trussel of Minerva, 3 grandchildren; Angie Unkefer, Ashley Walton, Sarah Walton, 2 great grandchildren; Khail Louive, Hailey Gardner, 2 brothers, Robert and Jay Unkefer and a sister, Bea Mae Ringer. He is preceded in death by a son, Jeff Unkefer and a brother, Glen Unkefer.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Susan Bowman officiating. Calling hours will be from 5- 7 pm prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to Aultman-Alliance Hospice.
