Ella Jane Phillips, Age 76, of Minerva, died Friday, January 6, 2017. She was born Jan. 21, 1940 in East Rochester, to Thomas and Hazel (Turpin) Newcomer. She worked at the Minerva Wax Paper Co., the Minerva Dairy, Holland's Restaurant, Walker's Restaurant and retired from DLH Industries.  She is a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Phillips who died in 2015; son-in-law, Chris Grogg, and a brother, Thomas Newcomer. She is survived by 3 daughters, Jody Phillips of Minerva, Tammie Phillips of North Canton, Kelli Grogg of Minerva; a son, John (Shannon) Phillips of Minerva; 2 sisters, Rosie McCleary of OK, and Evelyn Vick of FL; 2 brothers, Leonard (June) Newcomer of Warren, Ronnie Newcomer of TX; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
