Ella C. Harsh, age 83, of Malvern, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014 in Mercy Medical Center. She was born Aug. 24, 1930 in Zanesville, OH to Francis and Margaret (Rupple) Schafer. She retired from Kauffman's Dept. Store in Canton where she had worked for many years. She graduated from Malvern High School and is a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Malvern where she was active on the funeral dinner committee for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Charles Harsh, whom she married Aug. 24, 1950; 2 daughters, Sherry Harsh of Fresno, OH and Joan (Bob) Wessel of Canton South; 2 sons, Charles T. (Tina) Harsh of N. Canton and David (Tammy) Harsh of Navarre; sister, Verna (Dale) McLean of Malvern; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Rita Evans and Dorothy Burwell and a brother, Norman Schafer.
Following cremation, a Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Malvern on Sat., Jan. 25th at 10:00 am with Father Victor Cinson as celebrant.
