Betty F. VanMeter
Age 82, of Minerva, died Wed., Nov. 30, 2011 in the Compassionate Care Center in Canton. She was born May 19, 1929 in Minerva to Walter and Helen Virginia (Kerr) Murphy. She was a housewife and worked in the office of Dr. Richard Boggs for several years. She is a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Malvern and a 1947 graduate of Minerva High School.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence VanMeter whom she married March 31, 1950; two sons, Terry (Marchand) VanMeter of Akron and Mark VanMeter of Minerva; a brother, Richard Murphy of Minerva; two half-brothers, Walter and John Murphy both of Oklahoma City; 2 grandchildren, Brock (Carrie) VanMeter and Shawn Fescemeyer.
She is preceded in death by her stepfather who raised her, Roy Hunter; two infant sisters, Mary and Margaret Murphy; infant brother, Donald Murphy; and a brother, Lee Murphy.
Services include cremation with private burial in Bethlehem Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Aultman Hospice.
