Elizabeth Ann Calhoun
age 59, of Minerva, lived with breast cancer since 2017 that she faced with remarkable strength and courage before it took her life March 6, 2023. Liz was born on September 27, 1963 in Canton, to Larry and Darlene (Clark) Swinehart. Liz graduated from Minerva High school in 1983. After graduation Liz worked in a few local restaurants where she made some lasting friendships. Her final and most loved job, was at Grinders Above and Beyond of Minerva where she was most recently the Pie Baker and Cook.
In 1982, Liz met Tom where he found her sitting on the fender of his car in front of Dairy Queen in Minerva. After asking her to get off his car they rarely left each other sides for the next 41 years. After an "extended engagement" they were married on Liz's birthday September 27, 2005.
Liz and Tom went on to give their hearts and home to eight completely loved German Shepard's; Casie, Murphy, Sidney, Roscoe, Gunner, Zoey, Zeina and Rocky.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her father, Larry Swinehart, stepmother, Janet Swinehart, maternal grandmother, Betty DeDent, niece, Jessica Stevenson and father-in-law Richard Calhoun. She is survived by husband, Tom Calhoun, mother and stepfather, Darlene and Bob Mackey, mother-in-law, Norma Calhoun, brother and sister-in-law Chris and Margie Swinehart, Minerva, sister and brother-in-law, Jena and James Childress, Virginia, sister-in-law, Sandi Snively, Delaware, sisters and brothers-in-law, Cheryl and Mark Antram Columbus, Barbara and Jeff Campbell, Minerva. Susan and Scott Strader, Delaware.
Loved and missed by several nieces and nephews Sean Swinehart, Maddox Childress, Kennedy Childress, Dawn Sloan, Christopher Antram, Jaime Perdigon, Joshua Calhoun, Jon Snively, Heather Wolfe, Mattie DiPietro, Michael Wilson, Michaela Minerva, Cierra Campbell and Sara Strader.
Cherished friends Cathy and Dave Winter, Jim and Ann Hull.
Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Local Hope, the Jackie Davidson Foundation an organization that Liz felt strongly about. They give direct care and support to women with cancer and other life-threatening diseases in the local community and they were there for Liz and Tom.
