Edwin "Ed" McNeil

Age 85, of Malvern, passed into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 16, 2021 in Canterbury Villa in Alliance. He was born April 11, 1936 in Akron to Crawford and Ila (Allen) McNeil. He retired from BF Goodrich where he worked in sales for 26 years.  He was also a life insurance agent for American General Life Insurance. He graduated from Rootstown High School in 1954 and is a member of the Malvern First Christian Church where he was the former music director. He is a US Air Force Veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn (Miller) McNeil whom he married Aug. 20, 1960, 2 daughters, Diane (Carl) Bennett of Carrollton, Kristin (Dennis) Shearer of Malvern, son, Dan (Kelly) McNeil of Malvern, sister, Karen Bryte of Beloit, brother, Gary McNeil of Crossville, TN, 5 grandchildren, Bill (Leah) Bennett, Chelsea and Rachel McNeil, Owen and Gracelyn Shearer and many much loved nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Lois Jacobs and Carole Knapp.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Saturday at 12 noon in the Malvern First Christian Church with Mr. Kenny Thomas officiating. Calling hours will be one hour prior to services from 11-12.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Malvern First Christian Church Building Fund or the Alzheimer's Society.
