Edward M. Dickey, Sr., age 82, of Minerva, died Monday, April 30, 2012 in Mercy Hospital following injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was born December 17, 1929 in Salem, Ohio to James, Sr. and Ruth Dickey. He retired from the oil fields after 38 years of service having worked for PEP Drilling for 21 years, Sherman Drilling for 8 years, and EMSCO Drilling for 5 years and was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War having served in the Army Medical Corp.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Dickey who passed March 12, 2012; and a son, Edward Dickey, Jr.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Sheila (Gerald) Driggers of Minerva, and Julie (Doug) Cross of Louisville; a sister, Mary Jane Mook; 3 brothers, James Dickey, Jr., George Dickey, and Frank Dickey; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Following cremation, a graveside service will be held, Friday at 12:00 noon in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery with Nora Henderson officiating.
