Edward Lee Maurer, age 62, of Minerva, died Saturday, October 1, 2016 in Mercy Medical center. He was born July 11, 1954 in Canton, OH to the late Clayton Maurer and Lucille (Martin) Maurer. He was an assembler and welder at Morgan Engineering and was also a truck driver. He also attended St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Minerva.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Frances (Sommers) Maurer whom he married Oct. 1, 1977; a sister, Carole (Duane) Hallman; 2 nephews, Marc (Juli) Hallman and Matt (Trish) Hallman; 4 great nephews; and a great neice.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morges with Fr. Anthony Batt as celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva.
