Dorothy I. Hawk, age 71, of Carrollton, died Mon., Sept. 29, 2014 in Aultman Hospital. She was born Oct. 31, 1942 in Minerva to Letha (Hoopes) Cogan and the late Ronald Cogan. She retired from Fusion Ceramics in Carrollton where she was the office manager for 35 years. She is a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, past Worthy Matron of Carroll Chapter #315 Order of the Eastern Star, Carroll County Farm Bureau and a 1960 graduate of Augusta High School.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Larry V. Hawk Sr. whom she married May 12, 1968; children, Larry (Mary Ann) Hawk Jr. of Minerva, Tim (Val) Hawk of Mechanicstown, Vicki (John) Howlett of Minerva; 9 sisters, Lee (Dan) Moore of Louisville, Norma (Alfred) Zwahlen of Minerva, Mary (Jerry) Garrett of Minerva, Bev (Tom) Polen of Guilford Lake, Marilyn (Kenny) Simmons of Malvern, Carolyn (Rich) Evans of East Rochester, June (Doyle) Hawk of East Rochester, Linda (Daryl) Haynam of Newark, Betty (Don) VanFossen of Sugarcreek; 5 brothers, Dale (Ilene) Cogan of Minerva, Wilbur Cogan of Minerva, Paul (Linda) Cogan of Carrollton, Gary Cogan of Carrollton and Larry (Rhonda) Cogan of Carrollton; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by 2 sons, Russell and Bruce Hawk.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 am in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church near Augusta with Rev. John Carpenter and Rev. Dale Fincher officiating. Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery.
