Obituary

Dorothy E. Cole

age 102, passed away Monday, Dec. 11, 2023 in the Centreville Village in Carrollton.  She was born Aug. 4, 1921 in East Twp., Carroll County to Lawrence and Pearl (Lee) Hawkins.  She was a homemaker and member of the Carrollton Baptist Temple. She is a 7th degree member of the Pleasant Valley Grange and a Past Matron of Carroll Lodge #315 Order of the Eastern Star and a former Deputy Grand Matron f District 13.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Orlan Stoffer in 1975 and Ernest Cole in 2012, 3 stepdaughters, Alverta Roach, Athnee Pearson and Lovonia Cole, stepson, Marlin Cole, sister, Shirley McKarns and a brother, Harold Hawkins.  She is survived by 2 daughters, Donna (Paul) Kail of Minerva, Marcia (Don) McLaughlin of Carrollton, son, Larry (Deanna) Stoffer of Carrollton, brother, Robert Hawkins of Canal Fulton, 6 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Sunday Dec. 17th at 2:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Pastor David Powell officiating.  Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.  Calling hours will be one hour prior to services from 1-2 pm at the funeral home.  Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carrollton Baptist Temple or the Heart Association.
