Dorothy A. Barcus
Age 92, of Alliance, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2013 in Canterbury Villa. She was born Aug. 3, 1921 in Pekin to James and Bessie (Glass) Brothers. She retired from TRW in Minerva where she had worked in the wax room and in casting and polishing. She graduated from Minerva High School and is a member of the Alliance First Christian Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Barcus who died in 1994, a daughter, Nancy Sanor, 3 sisters and a brother; Isador Dieringer, Eileen Hollander, Mary Jane Brothers and Edward Brothers. She is survived by 2 daughters, Judy Stephens of Alliance and Kandy Locke of Alliance, 3 sons, Harry "Skip" Sharpnack of Kansas, Terry "T.J." Locke of Alliance and Pepper (Jodi) Locke of Minerva, 13 grandchildren, several step grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Sue DeHoff officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Calling hours will be one hour prior to services on Friday from 10-11 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Canterbury Villa Activity Fund or the Alliance Visiting Nurse and Hospice.
