Doris O. Dewitt
Age 83, of Carrollton, died Sat., May 7, 2016 in Aultman Compassionate Care Center and is now joined in Heaven with her husband, Luther. She was born Aug. 26, 1932 in Oakland, MD to Thomas and Thelma (McLaughlin) Friend. A former employee of Baxter Tube in Minerva and Merit Plastics in East Canton, she graduated in 1951 from Friendsville High School, MD. She is a member of Living Water Fellowship in Carrollton, the Red Hat Society and had been a Sunday School Teacher at the Minerva Church of the Nazarene as well as song leader for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Luther DeWitt who died in 2004 and a sister, Geraldine "Dean" Humberson. She is survived by a daughter, Lou Anne (Michael) Gross of Dellroy , 2 sons, Roger (Kris) DeWitt of Dellroy and Randy (Jackie) DeWitt of Carrollton, sister, Gayle (Donald) Horlander of Pensacola, FL, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Pastor Michael Gross officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday 6-8 pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Aultman Hospice.
