Doris Eileen Clapper, 87, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, died peacefully on May 20, 2013. She was born on October 15, 1925, in Canton, Ohio. A graduate of Canton Township High School in 1943, Doris was the owner of Edith's Hat Shop and Kiddee Corner in Minerva, Ohio. On Easter Sunday, April 1945 at Christ Reformed Church, she met John Norvin Clapper, whom she later married on November 28, 1946. Doris took pride in being a long-time member of the Robertsville Grange. In 1972, John and Doris moved to Lehigh Acres, Florida, where they owned and operated Norgetown Laundromat and Dorothy K, a women's dress shop. Doris was a member at the First Christian Church of Lehigh and most recently attended First Baptist Church of Lehigh Acres.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Mary Youtz, and her sister, Faith Youtz Rosenberger. She is survived by her loving husband, John, and her 4 sons: James (Carol), Dennis (Vicki), Dale (Brenda), and Jon (Kori). In addition, she has 10 grandchildren: Douglas, Todd, Denise (Alfredo), Christa (Patrick), Carrie (Karl), Marcus (Michelle), Evonne, Kaira, Jordan, and Krissi. Her legacy will long be shared to her 10 great-grandchildren: Marcus, A.J., Trey, Story, Casius, Eric, Luna, Anthony, Michael and Mykala.
A Burial Service will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at 2:30 p.m., at the Christ Memorial Church Cemetery in Robertsville, Ohio.
