Jean (Whetstone) Miller, age 90, of Minerva, died Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Bel Air Care Center in Alliance. She was born September 25, 1925 in Minerva, to Guy and Ruth (Wolfe) Whetstone. She retired in 1989 after 26 years of teaching from Mary Irene Day Elementary School in Minerva. She graduated from Minerva High School in 1943, received her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Walsh College in 1969. She was also a member of the Minerva United Methodist Church, longtime Minerva resident, an avid reader, and loved the coast of Maine and visiting lighthouses.

She is survived by her son, Bill Miller of Freedom, New Hampshire.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Guy Jr. and Donald Whetstone.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2016 in the Chapel in East Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Minerva Salvation Army or Community Hospice. Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register book at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
