Donna Jean Cowden, 88, of Elloree, SC passed away peacefully, Thursday, October 29, 2026 in her home. She was born in East Rochester, Ohio to the late William Arthur & Goldie Marie (Reidl) Walter. She retired from Minerva local school district as a cook & food service coordinator. She was known as the “Pie Lady” at Stumphole Landing.

Donna is survived by two sons; Larry & Andrea (Walker) Cowden of Gaffney SC. & David & Dee (Hosmer) Cowden of Elloree SC. grandchildren & great grandchildren; Chad (Megan), Bret (Gabe), Alexis, Piper, & Lane,One Brother; Bill (Nancy) Walter of Robertsville, OH, three sisters; Susie (Joe) Crone of Minerva, OH, Diana (Bill) Rodman of Marion, OH, & Debbie Durst of Kensington, OH. Numerous nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Robert Cowden whom she married June 3, 1956 and brothers Bob Walter, & Carl Walter.

Funeral services will be held at the Gotchall Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva, OH at 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 7th with Pastor Peggy Garner officiating. Burial will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 hours prior to services from 10 am to 12 noon before the funeral service

A memorial service will be held at Jerusalem Methodist Church in Santee, SC on Sunday, November 15,2026 at 2 PM
