Donald E. Taylor, age 84, of Minerva, died Wed., Dec. 12, 2012 in McCrea Manor in Alliance. He was born May 25, 1928 in Esmond, IL to Ernest and Vida (Lipp) Taylor. He retired from GTE as an engineer where he had worked in Minerva and Marion for 35 years. A member of the Marion Fairpark Baptist Church, he is a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War where he served on the air craft carrier USS Oriskany. He is a member of the Minerva VFW Post #4120, American Legion Post #357 in Minerva, the American Legion Post #162 in Marion and the Marion Moose Lodge.

He is preceded in death his first wife of 37 years, Amy Jo (Locke) Taylor who died in 1991; wife of 18 years, Dorothy (Pearson) Taylor who died in 2010; a brother, Pete Taylor.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Karey (Glenn) Hellyer of Frisco, TX, Jennifer (Brad) Davies of Robertsville, OH; 2 step-daughters, Diane and Pamela Pearson both of Marion, OH; a sister, Marian Fogle of IL; 5 grandchildren, Jona, Aaron, Lance, Heather, Angela; and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Pastor Kenneth Durtsche officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in East Lawn Cemetery in Minerva.
