Donald “Dude” Poole Sr.

Age 80, of Minerva, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026. He was born July 7, 1945 in Minerva to Henry and Esther (Milhoan) Poole. He retired from Sugardale where he had worked for many years. He is a US Army Veteran serving as a tank driver in Berlin, Germany. He is a member of Louisville Eagles Aerie #2374 (and formerly Minerva Eagles #2199), the NRA and the Wounded Warrior Project.

He is survived by a son, Donald Poole Jr., sister, Kay Bradley, 2 grandchildren, Casey Dehaven, Amber Dahn, 2 great grandchildren, Shade DeHaven and Davie Kelley an special friends, Scott and Nikki Wagner. He is preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Poole and a great grandson, James DeHaven.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, June 18th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva where full military honors will be given at 8:00 pm. Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
