Diane L. Smith

Age 75, of Minerva, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, in Aultman Hospital in Canton, OH.  She was born Oct. 3, 1948, in Alliance, OH, to Dwain and Faye (Kelley) Cogan. She was a housewife, worked for Van's Boat Shop prior to having children, was a Cub Scout Leader and a 1966 graduate of Minerva High School. She is a member of the Malvern First Christian Church. She was also a former member of the Minerva First Christian Church where she was a Deaconess and a Sunday School Teacher.  She loved her husband, children and grandchildren with all of her heart and dedicated her whole life to her family.

She is survived by her husband, Timothy L. Smith whom she married June 17, 1973; 3 daughters, Kellie (Richard) Morehouse of Akron, Wendy (Sean) Kocher of Minerva, Heather (Joseph) Lawhorn of Lisbon; 8 grandchildren, Katie, Kristin, Will, Julianna, Kailynn, Addy, Izzy, and Lincoln; 2 sisters, Sarah (Derek) Gordon of Columbus, Barbara (Rick) Gill of Minerva; a sister-in-law, Jean Cogan and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Buck and a brother, Rodney Cogan.

Calling hours will be held Saturday at 3:00 to 5:00 with the Funeral services at 5:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Mr. Kenny Thomas officiating. Graveside services will be at East Lawn Cemetery.
