Delmar W. Sanor, age 94, of Minerva, died Wed. April 13, 2011. He was born Oct. 29, 1916 in Moultrie to Emmett and Carrie (Weaver) Sanor. He was owner/operator of Sanor's Fruit Farm in Chambersburg from 1943-1977. He was a press operator for Transue and Williams in Alliance. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII and a member of the East Rochester United Methodist Church, George D. Worth American Legion Post #525 and the Columbiana County Farm Bureau.
He is preceded in death by his wives, Marjo Sanor in 1946 and Geneva (Whinnery) Sanor in 1996; two daughters, Mary Prendergast and Dorothy Wyss; a son, William Sanor; a brother Frank Sanor, and a grandson. He is survived by three sons, Clarence (Delores) Antram of Minerva, John Sanor of Minerva and Jim (Sue) Sanor of Minerva; 2 son-in-laws, Eugene Prendergast of Minerva and Ronnie Wyss of North Georgetown; 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 4:00 pm in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Scott Williams officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 2-4 pm, prior to services.
