Debra Jo Hoopes
Age 64, of Carrollton, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025. She was born Jan. 30, 1961 in Alliance the daughter of Robert and Geneva (Holderbaum) Kistner. She had worked for Kishman's IGA in Minerva and was a 1979 graduate of Minerva High School.
Deb Hoopes was a loving and selfless soul who touched the lives of everyone around her. Married to David Hoopes for 45 wonderful years, she was a devoted mother to Matthew and Christopher, and an incredible mother-in-law whose kindness made everyone feel like family. She cherished her grandchildren, Boone, Trapper, and River, and always remembered the little details that made each person feel special. Deb had a passion for sewing, creating beautiful quilts and blankets that she often donated to shelters. She also had a talent for cooking, with her Thanksgiving dinners being especially cherished. Her gifts were always from the heart, wrapped with impeccable care and thoughtfulness. Deb's love for the Rolling Stones and her sharp mind in a game of Scrabble were just a few of the many things that made her so special. Deb will be deeply missed, and her legacy of love and kindness will live on in all of us.
She is survived by her husband, David Hoopes whom she married Nov. 20, 1979, 2 sons, Matt Hoopes of Minerva, Chris (Brooklyn) Hoopes of Carrollton, sister, Karla Seibel of Mansfield, 2 brothers, Paul Minor of N. Georgetown, Todd Kistner of Canton, 3 grandchildren, Boone, Trapper and River.
