IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Lynn
Overholt
October 9, 1959 – June 29, 2025
David Lynn Overholt
age 65, of Minerva, OH, was healed from a short battle with cancer and gained a new body at sunrise, his favorite time of day, on June 29, 2025. He passed from this life to heaven at University Hospital in Cleveland surrounded by his family.
David was born on October 9, 1959 to the late Victor and Emma (Raber) Overholt. On May 24, 1986 he married his celebrity, Wilma (Weaver) Overholt, who survives.
David was a member of River of Life Fellowship.
He is deeply missed by his wife Wilma and their children, Alice (Jonny) Sommers of Detroit, MI, Jesse (Irene) Overholt of Minerva, OH, Catie (Johnny) Yoder of Minerva, OH, Samuel (Sharon) Overholt of Paris, OH, Noah Overholt and Charles Overholt of the home; Grandchildren, Nadia Sommers, Theo and Arthur Yoder; Siblings, Ruth (Johnny) Miller, Fred Overholt, Leon (Ida) Overholt, Lena (Olen) Yoder, JoAnn (Chris) Inhulsen, Delilah (Lonnie) Beachy, Judy (David) Miller, Dwayne (Kathy) Overholt; along with many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his special needs daughter Annie Overholt, who he cared for tirelessly until her death in 2015, granddaughter Nova Overholt, sister Vera Overholt, brother Michael Overholt & sister-in-law Bernadine (Fred) Overholt.
David was a God-fearing, steady anchor for his family and those around him. He was very talented and some of the things he enjoyed were gardening, camping with his family, traveling aka "blading", a good book, making maple syrup, beekeeping, late night cereal parties with his grandson, campfire jam nights and 4:00 coffee and a cookie. We also can't forget the many years of him facilitating the Applebuttering for his family and friends. It was a highlight for all. David was a skilled mason and was known for being creative. His strong work ethic taught many young men to work hard while making it enjoyable. Many laughs were had on the job. He enjoyed helping those in need and was good at recruiting others to join him. His legacy is one of faith, love and service. He was honest, straightforward and never afraid to speak his mind. He made everyone feel seen and valued.
