David L. Duffy, age 66, of Malvern, died Monday, July 8, 2013 in Aultman Hospital. He was born Jan. 28, 1947 in Massillon, Ohio to Donald and Helen (Cline) Duffy. He retired from General Motors in Lordstown where he worked for over 38 years, was currently working at the Minerva Public Library, is a 1966 graduate of Carrollton High School. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the 1st Infantry, The Big Red 1 was a lifetime member of the Minerva VFW #4120 and the American Legion in Newton Falls, Ohio and was a member of the United Auto Workers #1714.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Carnes of Newton Falls, a daughter, Lavonne (Frank) Embrogno of Malvern; a son, Wes (Sandi) Duffy of Malvern; former wife and friend, Debbie Duffy of Minerva; 3 sisters, Janet Leach of Cambridge, Wanda Duffy of Texas, Barbara Moyer of NC; 4 brothers, Blaine Duffy of Malvern, Donny (Nancy) Duffy of Arizona, Bruce (Debbie) Duffy of Carrollton, Tommy (Cora) Duffy of Minerva; 5 grandchildren, Nick, Haley and Ryan Embrogno and Taylor and Logan Duffy.
He is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Dean and Dale Duffy.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Allen Hill officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.
