E. Darlene "Dolly" Lowry

Age 96, of Minerva, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024 in St. Luke Lutheran Community in Minerva.  She was born Nov. 9, 1927 to the late Leland and Emma (Darling) Faloon in Hanoverton.  She graduated from Augusta High School in 1945 and Salem Nursing School in 1948.  She was a private duty nurse and worked in the Salem Hospital and she was the owner of Lowry's Dry Goods in downtown Minerva for 10 years.  She was a former member of the Minerva Methodist Women, San Souci Club and the Minerva Nursing Association and a member of the Minerva Methodist Church for over 75 years.  She enjoyed being active, socializing with friends and spending time with her family. She deeply loved and found great joy in her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James "Jim" Lowry, who died in 2004; two sisters, Leila Weirick and Wanda Holmes; and a brother, Duane "Pat" Faloon.  She is survived by two daughters, Carol Lowry of Memphis, TN and Ann (Jim) Hull of Minerva; and son, Jess (Sue) Lowry of Warrenton, VA; five grandchildren, Jessica Lowry, Aaron (Pam) Lowry, Kyra (Brock) Leggett, Ashley (Brad) Johnson and Zachary (Tina) Hull; six great grandchildren, Danika Wagner, Jayci Leggett, Zaden Leggett, Mila Johnson, Jada Johnson and Juliana Hull; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home with Dave Haught officiating.  Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Tuesday 6-8 pm and one hour prior to services from 10-11 am at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Minerva Methodist Church.  Those wishing to send condolences may sign the online register book at www.gotschallfuneralhome.com.
